Community impact
Community Impact is not an easy task - but it is an easy concept. Instead
of implementing programs that seem nice and make us feel like we're
doing good things, we want to know that we are doing great things.
Community Impact is more than just throwing money at a program and
believing that those dollars are making a difference; it's looking at
outcomes, seeing what's working (and what's not), and starting
discussions. It's about convening partners in order to both identify and
act on the underlying causes of our community's most significant
problems. We are committed to serving our community in the most
meaningful way possible.

Adopt A Family
The Adopt A Family holiday program allows groups, individuals, and
businesses to select a family to provide assistance to for the holidays.
Each year, around 600 individuals receive the help they need to make it
through the hard winter months. The items received by the families,
including clothes, toys, personal care items, bedding, food, and other
necessities, helps families spend the money they do have on housing,
utilities, transportation, and other things of that nature. Over 130
groups, individuals and businesses make this program a success every
year
Family Wize Prescription Cards
This care provides up to 20% off prescription drugs for families or
individuals that do not have prescription insurance, or for those that
have insurance that does not cover a particular medication. The cards
can be used at nine different pharmacies in Isabella County as many
times as
needed, and are available free of charge.
Gifts in Kind
Gifts in Kind is the largest charity in the world that focuses on new
product donations from corporations. In turn, the organization provides
these new products to 150,000 community charities in America and
throughout the world. United Way of Isabella County is now a member of
this great program, and is able to access books, clothing, personal
care items, building supplies, home appliances, and much more. These
items are also available to partner agencies of United Way.
United Way 211
This is a three-digit phone number that anyone can call to access
resources and get connected with any type of human service need. United
Way is supporting 211 in Isabella County along with other partners
including foundations, other United Ways, Listening Ear, and private
investors.
